Staff Interpreter for Mill Neck Interpreter Service

Nora Reade has a B.S. in English/American Sign Language Interpreting from Bloomsburg University and A.S. in Deaf Studies from Suffolk County Community College. She has been working as a freelance interpreter for Mill Neck Interpreter Service since 2017 and joined Mill Neck Interpreter Service as a staff interpreter in February 2022. She has experience working in Academia, Healthcare, and Law Enforcement fields. Nora also has her Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA). She excels in Tactile Interpreting for the Deaf-Blind. Nora’s passion for signing and interpreting extends beyond traditional areas. She is a Certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and New York State Special Olympic Swim Coach. She uses her signing skills to instruct Deaf, Deaf Blind, Hard of Hearing, and children/young adults with disabilities in drowning prevention and swimming techniques. She has been the Head Coach of a Long Island special needs swim team for 12-years.
